Hello all,

Due to a stressful job, I've had a reocurring pain in the area of the 3rd chakra. It comes and goes with projects, deadlines, and demands with my chosen employment, and I'm wondering if someone in the community has had this experience or has a suggestion of an excercise I can use to open up this area.

Any and all suggestions welcome - thanks!

inner pain and suffering will be present when individuals are out of alignment with the natural self; which is essentially another way of saying 'are you certain that your chosen employment is chosen because it is the employment of who you prefer to be? or is it that you are making limited choices (not choosing what you really prefer) because you believe that what you really prefer is impossible?'.

natural self = unconditionally loving and effortlessness.
    anything else = dis-ease.

so yes, most people are dis-easing themselves in some way.

    Here's some Chakra-affirmations I've recently learned:

    Chakra Affirmations:

My root chakra is deeply rooted

My sacral chakra juices are creative and bold.

My solar plexus feels mellow and calm.

My heart is overflowing with love energies.

My throat is clear and open, my voice utters truthful words.

My third eye intuits inner knowledge.

    My crown chakra projects inspiration.

HINT: I've learned that Meditation can work wonders for a tense 3rd chakra. Awareness (Mindfullness) Meditation is a good way to start "being here, now" instead of letting the mind project into the future or the past.

    BREATHE, and "be here, now."

And mellow out, dude! Don't try to control everything. The Mellow Yellow knows when to "let go and let God."

I like to sing chants that use the diaphragm. I find it feels very powerful to use this muscle, so it feels like I am really strengthening the Chakra too. "Harinam" by Guru Ganesha Singh is great for this. It's really, really easy to sing along to. I sing it every day in my car on my way to work.

Oooooooo...chants! That is a good idea!

Here's another really nice chant.....for showing love for our Mother:

        www.youtube.com/watch

You might also want to check your chakras for "cords," and if you have them, do a "cord cleansing" exercise.

"Relationships can get sticky, if you know what I mean. That's because on the etheric plane you'd sense cords of energy going from each of you to the other. That is your energy reaching out and making contact. These aka (cords) are sticky, so they stay attached to the person you are relating to. Mana, energy, flows through the aka cords. The trouble is, they tend to stay there and keep you connected long after you've moved on. They maintain old perceptions - you keep seeing people as they were when you first related to them, so you don't see them as they are now. This inhibits the growth of the relationships, as the others - and you - naturally must have grown or changed. We don't know exactly how the kahunas would have dealt with these cords, but one method you could use is to cut them with a sharp object or scissors. The results are amazing: you feel done and clear with old relationships, and in the case of present relationships, rest assured, the cords will reconnect the next time you see or talk with them, and you will both be in present time!" --from Dianna Seagiver Dumelle

(Of course, Dumelle means that we "visualize" cutting the cords with a sharp object or scissors. We can also "visualize" pulling them out, like pulling a plug out of its socket. Let the energy dissapate into the earth, or go back to the person who put the cords there.)

Other methods I have used is to visualize a cleansing spirit water fall, falling through all the chakras and washing away any debris. You can also visualize a white light that sucks out negativity like a vacuum cleaner, and then imagine the light sinking into the earth, neutralizing the energy….or flying into the Sun
where the energy will be purified in its fire.

Cleansing the Chakras and removing the Cords is a good way to stay clear of any kind
of negativity that may “cling” to you for any reason. Healers are especially helped by this regular cleansing.

After any healing session, I recommend taking a nice bath, or at least a shower!
Salt water in the bath water is very helpful. If you can’t get a whole-body bath, then definitely wash your hands in running water and shake them out!

    Dear Moons,

You can strengthen your etheric body through the navel chakras using the following two bija's. It's important you do them in this order...

Chant "RAM"... the R you should feel it like a burp rising from the bottom of your belly. The A is up in your chest and M in your sinus. You should feel like an inside body massage as you change this, use it to help you relax the insides of your body. You can chant it loud, quiet, fast, slow... go with the feeling and you'll feel it working for you. Make sure you are not leaning or touching anything when you do this practice... especially no other plants/animals/humans as it can dissipate the energy you build up.

Next, chant "MU" imagine the deep calm MUUUU that a cow makes. You want to feel this in your stomach... this second bija will balance, ground, and also intensify the RAM practice you just did.

There are many ways to address things... doing this will not only make you stronger, but may also increase your awareness of certain things that may have been bothering you and you will have the awareness to face them and choose how to be with them.

wow- I am totally on the same page as you guys. Wow. I am actually writing a book. I will let you know how it goes- but I am really digging what you are saying. It's awesome though, the responsibility we all have in co-creating what is happenening- it's scary and everyone (almost) seems to be living in yesterday, which is such a strange place to be but I need to ask what is the good intention of that and instead of being impatient I have to understand. Anyway, it's challenging to say the least!!! So, I really like this thread. The "chords" are facinating-- super charged with info. they can change evrything can't they!!! What a tool........really, helps clarify relationships. Super cool. Thanks. Beth

One more note, I find that the 3rd Chakra (yellow) is about our Power and how we deal with Power in our world.

Starhawk speaks of "Power-Over" and "Power from Within"----

Power-from-within derives from power’s etymological roots in ‘being able.’ It is an attitude and spirit with which an individual engages the world, “akin to the sense of mastery as we develop as young children with each unfolding ability: the exhilaration of standing erect, of walking, or speaking the magic words that convey our needs the thoughts.”

Thus, Power-from-within is linked to a sense of competence and joy at one’s unfolding capacities. Power-from-within rises from our sense of connection, “our bonding with other human beings, and with the environment.”

“Although Power-over rules the systems we live in, Power-from-within sustains our lives. We can feel that power in acts of creation and connection, in planting, building, writing, cleaning, healing, soothing, playing, singing, making love.”

–from the book __Transforming power: domination, empowerment, and education__ by Seth Kerisberg (quotes from Starhawk)

Power-over is really a kind of “control drama.” For learning about Control Dramas, I suggest the book __The Celestine Prophecy__. According to the author of that book, there are 4 kinds of Control Dramas. These are ways that we learn to take power from others. They are: “poor me,” “constant questioning,” “agression,” and “aloofness.”

James Redfield (the author) points us to new ways of giving attention to others and VOLUNTARILY sharing our power with them, and they with us!

Learning to handle POWER is at the root of the 3rd chakra......
